Anyone have a student with SEVERE lack of attention/focus?

I have a student and I just feel it's something more than being a daydreamer. I was reading and came across petit mal seizures but I don't know how to present that to the mom as a possibility. The mom is not in denial. She is as a loss, too.

Google absent seizures. I've had two students over the last few years afflicted by them. They see to just check out/daydream and are unaware of what is happening to them.
