Anyone have exp with after care program im Plainedge SD.

I cant believe I had no idea it was seperate from the school and I just found out its FULL.

I got temporary help but i hope they allow more to be signed up come 2nd week of school, as they stated.

I also have left 2 messages and no one is calling me back.

I dont know what I will do if I cant get her in there.

I work f/t and wont be able to pick her up.

School = complications!
Daycare was easier!

this post gives me hope lol. i didnt even realize PSD had an after school program ill have to remember that when my son begins ....

ugh! we got custody of my DH's 2 kids last year in february. they were able to squeeze his boys into the aftercare program but the morning care was full. they never informed us of how to sign them up for the following year so this year when we called last week, they informed us it was full. they also utilize the middle school and bus them over but thats full too. they said to call in 2 weeks to see if there are opening for aftercare but the morning care is def packed.
i am so angry about this whole situation because other districts like massapequa utilize area centers like tutor time for these programs and then bus the kids from there to the schools. apparently plainedge doesnt supply the centers with busses so their program is the only one available. when we called to inquire about other options they told us they knew of none and that we were like the 20th parent calling with this issue.
we had to scramble to look for help and i think we found a mom in the district that will watch the boys in the morning and after school and its costing us more than aftercare.
the whole situation annoys me. the program they offer clearly doesnt accomadate the needs of the district

My co-worker's kids are in elementary school in Plainedge and they go to an after care program located at the junior high. They are bussed from their school to after care.

ETA: They go to Schwarting if that makes a difference.
