anyone have experience getting a urine sample at home (w/a boy & diaper on)?

we have those little baggies to put around his boy parts and then i put his diaper on but every time i've done this (4x-at night, daytime and nap time) it leaks and i get no urine. and i need 2 cups of urine too.

is there a trick to it?

is it better to let the urine bag stick out of the diaper or should i keep it in the diaper?

i need help!

Yes, it is difficult. Make sure to have his penis pointing down into the bag. Also make sure that before putting the bag on his privates you have completely dried him so that it can stick to his skin. I will say that - and this is completely aquard and made both DH and I upset but the ped touched DS so much that he had an erection to make sure that his penis would go into the bag.

If he is regular with his poopies, do it AFTER it's poopie time. so you don't have poopies on the bag and you have to do it again.

Also make sure to press down on all the tape part so it does not leak.

First make sure that the area is clean really well so swab it a few times. Once it's dry try and get his genitals into the opening. Maybe do it after he had a big drink that way you can keep the diaper off or at least you will get the sample fast.

thanks guys,. i always make sure he doesn't have any cream on and is clean and dry. it just still leaks everywhere and i get nothing in the bag. i think he just moves around too much and the pee squishes out.
