Anyone have food poisoning in 1st trimester?

I'm a little worrywart. If you saw my post from earlier, I think I had a little bout with food poisoning or a stomach bug last night. Thank god it only lasted about 5 hours and since this morning I've been able to eat and drink no problem.

I'm just a little worried about the latke. Reassure me that I'm being paranoid please!

while i wasn't in the first trimester - i had that serious stomach virus a few weeks back and was in the ER because of it.

when i saw the OB last week i asked about it - i told her point blank the ONLY thing i ate in about 3 days was about 1/2 a sleeve of crackers. She said the baby will take what it needs....

just be sure to drink gatorade - as it replaces things you have lost....you should be okay - but call the OB in the morning - let them know what happened....if THEY are concerned...then i'd worry - but until then - take care of YOU and the baby!!!!

Everyone in my office ordered from a local Mexican restaurant, and about half of us were vomitting the following day. I had no vomitting with m/s, so I do attribute it to the food. I was 12 or 13 weeks. I spent a few hours vomitting, but was able to keep down water by mid-day, so I don't think it's any harm to the baby. I had another appt. since then and didn't mention it to the doctor, but all is well with the . I think so long as you don't get dehydrated you're fine. My worst problem was that with my m/s I feel most nauseous on an empty stomach, so I was getting sick, had an empty stomach, and then was feeling even worse since my stomach was so empty.

Feel better! I think so long as you're able to stomach some crackers or toast or something you're fine.

Baby will take from you. Just make sure to stay hydrated.

I had food poisoning when I was pregnant with DD at about 9 or 10 weeks. It was awful and I actually threw up so much I ended up having to go to the ER because I could not even stand and could not keep anything down. They ended up having to give me IV fluids and 2 bags of potassium. Everything turned out fine and my DD is now 2. Pregnancies are stronger than we think.

I think I did. I had really bad diareah for a day and the worst stomach pain. It was def from something I ate.

at 20 weeks i got food posioning from cilantro served at a resturant..it was TERRIBLE..i was in the hospital for 3 days, and lost almost 12 pounds..the baby grew fine, and got what she needed..i just felt like crap lol...

feel better stomach virus' during pregnancy are the WORST!

You should be fine! The concern with food poisoning or stomach virus is the diarrhea and vomiting only b.c it can cause severe dehydration which is a concern in pregnancy. As long as you are keeping up you fluids you should be just fine.

Hi! I had the stomach flu recently during my first trimester and felt the same way as you. I couldn't eat for about 24 hours was vomitting and had diarrhea. It was terrible so I understand your concerns. As long as you stayed hydrated I wouldn't worry. It sounds like it was a quick bout.
