Anyone have info on Bellerose?
I currently work in Bellerose but have no idea about the schools or if it is a good area to live in. I appreciate any feedback. Thanks!

Re: Anyone have info on Bellerose?
I grew up not to far from Bellerose and I have some friends from there so I am somewhat familiar with the area. Part of Bellerose is in Queens so that would be NYC schools - and they are decent city schools from what I know. The other part of Bellerose is in Nassau County and the elementary schools are Floral Park- Bellerose schools and the junior high / high school is Floral Park Memorial High School - which is part of the Sewanhaka School District. I went to a different high school in the district and I FPMHS is a good school.
It is a convenient commute to the city - LIRR and there is also an express bus. Some people drive to the F train at 179th and Hillside Avenue.
I like the area and I think it is a nice community. There are some beautiful houses in the Bellerose Village area. Feel free to FM me with any other questions! HTH

Re: Anyone have info on Bellerose?
I live in Bellerose and we love it there. It is a great community and has lots of younger families now too. We live on the city side but east of the cross island The schools are great becuase they are SD 26 which is one of the highest rated for NYC schools. If you go west of the cross island it is a different school district and the area changes the further west you go. Also the more north you go closer to the LIE and little neck the prices of homes increase. Bellerose Village in nassau has beautiful houses and is south of jericho right near the train. Bellerose Terrance is just west of that and also uses the floral park schools.

I heard SD 26 is an excellent sought after SD.

We rented there for a while and thought about buying there. Make sure that the schools are Bellrose-Floral Park School district.

Re: Anyone have info on Bellerose?
Hey Hollie - we're currently renting in Bellerose (on the city side), and have thought about buying here because we like the area. It's also School District 26 which is one of the best (if not, the best) in Queens.
We live in Glen Oaks Village right off Union Tpke, east of the Cross Island Parkway. It's easy to get to Manhattan, Brooklyn, & L.I too.
