anyone have Japanese straightened hair w/ bangs?

I was thinking of having this done. I don't have bangs anymore, b/c my bangs would kick up and make weird cowlicks, but I can get the rest of my hair to be straight with very little effort. I know it won't last long on bangs but I assume it would help. (to clarify, I would NOT be looking to just do my bangs as I would want the full effect) I want to have bangs again and I was considering Japanese straightening. The only reason I would not want to do it is that now I can also scrunch my hair and get a messy curly look sometimes. Should I do it? Does anyone get hair breakage from Japanese straightening?

My hair actually turns out to be healthier after I get JHS.

I never had bangs and had JHS, but did get JHS and then added bangs - does that make sense?

They weren't "real" bangs per se since they were pretty long/layered, and went something like this (I took the picture to my stylist):

I had long bangs swept to the side. One of the reasons I went is I started to get this weird cowlick with the bangs & couldn't stand it.

oh & no breakage at all.

Question for those with bangs, where do the girls part your hair when you have it straightened?

I wanted to do bangs, but my part is in the center and it would look silly right now...until my hair grows in a little and the part isn't so severe. (My bangs would fall the side as opposed to forward.)



I just had my hair cut yesterday after having it straightened on Tuesday.

and NO BREAKAGE!! My stylist was impressed and wanted to know where I had it done. She said they did a really nice job.

ETA: Do most people get their hair cut at Top Point at the same time? I have trouble trusting people to cut my hair.

I so want this done, but I am so afriad my hair will get damaged, since I dye the greys and I am afriad I can't dye for a while if I do.

I get my hair colored, too. I figured that I've seen many people who get both done. Does anyone here get both coloring and JHS? I know I'd have to delay getting my roots done but I can do that.

ETA: Uh Oh, I still have some leftover bleach hi-lights from the summer. I had 4 foils done, just to frame my face. I just read that you can't have hi-lights and do JHS. These would take a while to grow out. Anyone know about this?

I had some highlights and then went to top point about a month later. my hair is thin and the parts where the highlights were got very damaged. I had fried hair and it took awhile for it to be ok...now I love it and since I have no more highlights in my hair I am going to get a touch up in may.

I color my hair and I have no problems.

The last time I had my hair dyed was over 7 weeks ago. (just dye, no highlights)

I also wouldn't let them cut my hair again. I made that mistake the last time & had the chopped look. Opt to get your haircut at your regular place.

I had my hair highlighted about 5 weeks before and colored 3 weeks before. Mine was fine.

I'm headed there in March for another round.I can''t wait to once again get out of the shower & never have to blow dry it.

Im excited, Im very close to getting it done. I was just waiting for my PP hair loss to stop and a little regrowth to come in. Soon.... I hope to have a life changing experience as well. I dont think my kids have seen me out of a pony tail in a very very long time.
