Anyone have or know anything about Fisher Price Newborn Rock n' Play Sleeper?
Hi...anyone have this? It's the Fisher Price Rock n' Play Sleeper.
I got it at my shower...was debating on if I should return it or not. Have been reading the reviews on BRU and on Amazon and they are all RAVE reviews. The reviewers are saying their babies slept so well in this thing at night. Making me think I should keep it. Apparently it meets bassinet safety standards...and most bassinets themselves don't meet these standards I think I read.
Anyway I had a hand me down bassinet - gorgeous one from Bellini...was my sisters but once she gave it to me I saw it was FILTHY. It's all material so I tried taking it off so I could wash it...not so easy. So I don't want to put my baby in something so filthy....now either have to buy a bassinet, use Pack n Play...or use this thing? I'm hesitant to buy a bassinet b/c I hear some babies don't even like them and end up in their cribs earlier than you think they will. I do want the baby in my room at first though so just trying to figure out what is best to put the baby in.
Any thoughts? Please let me know what you think. This Fisher Price thing almost looks more like a bouncer seat to me...that's why I'm unsure if I should really let the baby sleep in it at night?
Here's a link to the rave reviews on BRU. BRU Reviews
TIA for any thoughts, advice, opinions...
PS - should I have this on the Parenting board? I think it's a fairly new item so only new mommy's may have this.

I have it (got it for my shower) but havent used it yet. I also read the RAVE reviews online which was why i decided to register for it. If not for those reviews I might have been skeptical as well.
We originally were going to use the crib from day 1 but then realized that we probably wouldn't have the heart to leave the baby in the crib in his room when we first bring him home (even though they say it is 100% safe).
We then thought we would just use the pack n play in our room but then the thought of lugging the pack and play up and down the stairs every day didnt seem too realistic (b/c we will use the pack n play downstairs during the day).
I KNEW i didnt want a bassinet...we just dont have room for it.
So we went with this! For the $50 is cost we figured we couldnt pass it up. We got it and will try it. It's also great for travel or for bringing to grandparents house b/c it folds up real nice.

I don't have this but I will say things like this are a god send for first time mommies. I say keep it. I thought I would never use my smooth glider from Fisher Price. Let me tell you DS slept in that until he was 3 mos and went into his crib. We tried the PNP but the space was way to open for him and freaked him out even being swaddled. This looks like it has a hammock feel which makes babies feel comforted and cuddled. HTH

I have it on my registry. I say keep it, you can always buy a bassinet later if the baby doesnt sleep well in it.

I have it and love it! So much better than a big bassinet and DD loves the incline. Plus you can rock it.

OK ladies...thank you all for the responses. Great point on what do I have to lose - it's only $50...I'm going to keep it.
I will definitely try it out in place of a bassinet...and like one poster said - it the baby isn't happy in it, I can always run out and get something else.
I just can't ignore all the great reviews I read...not one person had a negative thing to say.
Thanks so much...very helpful responses!!!
