Anyone have PUPPS?-update
I saw my OB last week at 32w and my stomach was itchy like crazy, but no rash just around my stretch marks. He said it's not PUPPS, just use calamine, benadryl, etc.
Well, by 2 days later, my stomach had a crazy rash, lines all over etc. I googled PUPPS and that's what it looks like to me. I didn't call him because I am seeing him every 2 weeks now and figured I could just hold out until 34 weeks, figuring there wasn't much he could do anyway.
Well, I am 33w now and going crazy. I haven't slept. I have spent over $100 in every over the counter product for itching (calamine, vitamin e, aloe, sarna lotion, cocoa butter, auqophor, etc). You name it, I've tried it. I feel like I am losing my mind and am at my last straw. I was in the bathroom this morning at 3am rubbing my stomach with lotion while crying. This is like no itch I've ever had. I'm trying not to scratch, but it's sooo hard!!!!!
I'm calling my OB first thing and am gonna beg to be seen today. Anyone go through this? Does it get better? I'm at my wits end!!!!!

Re: Anyone have PUPPS?
I had a rash and crazy itchiness that my Dr said was PUPPS...not sure if it was though.
Baby aveeno lotion with oatmeal helped. I also tried an oatmeal bath which helped. I would have my Dh rub the lotion on me and massage me or give me deep pressure while putting on the lotion.
Feel better

Re: Anyone have PUPPS? - update
So I called my OB and he wanted me to see a dermatologist. I went to one today. Basically there's nothing they can do. She won't prescribe me a steroid or let me use hydrocortisone because it can interfere with the babies' adrenal glands.
She said yup, I definitely have PUPPS. It has now spread to one of my wrists and arms. They gave me samples of Eucerin calming-itch relief which has oatmeal and menthol in it. I'm off to the store to buy some now.
She said the good news is it will go away when I deliver. The bad news is I have to wait to deliver for it to go away! Oh boy, it's gonna be a long 5 weeks or so. I want these babies to stay put as long as they can, but I am exhausted and poor DH is done too! Thanks for letting me vent!!!

Re: Anyone have PUPPS?-update
I had Pupps and used a bunch of stuff recommended by a poster on here. I know one of them was tar soap. I also took tons of bath with oatmeal. I'm sorry, I know it sucks. I got it at 24 weeks and didn't deliver until 35.5 weeks!

Re: Anyone have PUPPS?-update
It was aweful!!!!! I think I took benadril. The only way it helped was that it helped me fall asleep. It went away the DAY I delivered the girls. Sorry I can't be any help.
OH! NOt to scare you or anything. But did they take blood work. I believe there is something with the liver or kidneys that can cause pregnant women to break out in a similiar rash. My dr. took my blood work for it.

Re: Anyone have PUPPS?-update
Ugghh. I am completely miserable. The rash has spread to my arms and legs. I pretty much had DH keep lathering me up with lotions and crying in between. I cry every day now from this.
I can't stop scratching even though I know I shouldn't. I take Benadryl at night and it only gives me about 2 hours sleep. I pretty much don't sleep anymore.
I'm going to be 34 weeks on Thursday and I really can't imagine being like this for another 4 and a half weeks.
I'm seeing my OB Friday. I'm going to ask him about the bloodwork. I swear no one can understand unless they've had this. I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy..

Re: Anyone have PUPPS?-update
I had it when pregnant with DS. It was HORRIBLE! All over my belly and thighs.
I found ice packs helped keep it at bay. And when I got too cold I'd use witch hazel oil, cortizone cream, or even rubbing alcohol.
Sorry - it is the worst and really nothing helps.
