Anyone Have Suggestions for European Tour Lines?
Anyone go to Europe through/on a tour company? I went on Contiki 5 years ago - but they are 18-35 and at 33, I don't want to be one of the elders - nor do I want to deal with 18 y.o. I know a lot of tours have senior-aged people, obviously, I want to avoid that. Anything in between? Recommendations for 30-40 year olds?
Much thanks!!

I would say globus is for an older crowd. They tend to be on the pricey side as well. I would maybe try looking into a self guided tour instead of a tour group.

I did a Contiki tour too, when I was 29, and I was like one of the senior citizens on the trip.
DH and I did a tour last summer with Go Ahead Vacations. Ages varied; DH and I had meals with two couples who were late 50s/early 60s and a father with his 20ish daughter and her friend (we had 4 dinners included). The price was decent and it was really good. We went to Ireland but I know they go all over Europe.

ETA- There is also Trafalgar (which owns Contiki) and there is another of the big companies that has a division called "Breakaways" that goes up to 35, I believe. It may be Globus or Insight.

Depends on who you deal with.
Cosmos has opened up the world for independent-minded, smart, practical travelers. Vacation packages combine all the benefits of group travel with much of the freedom of an independent vacation to create a balanced experience for each and every traveler.
Cosmos offers you multiple ways to enjoy your vacation.
Regional Discoveries: If you want to focus on one specific region, these in-depth packages are an excellent choice. Our expert Tour Directors help you learn an area’s distinct flavor and history.
Panoramas: These packages are absolutely the best way to get an overview and allow you to experience a variety of cultures and "must-see" sights. Our experienced Tour Directors are with you every step of the way.
Escapes: Cosmos offers vacations that let you explore in a week or less. You can have a comprehensive travel experience plus free time to relax.
Cosmos is great because they are inexpensive and a young group at times.
Globus is more expensive. They deal with a lot of more escorted travel.
MoNoGRAMS I like dealing with for tours. They can be a little on the pricy side but for escorted tours to Europe they are fabulous. Monograms is independent travel, brought to you by your friends at Globus, the worldwide leader in escorted travel. We use our more than 75 years of experience to make sure you have the best vacation ever...on your own.
We will be there behind the scenes to smooth every step of the way for you. When you’ve been traveling as long as we have, you have operations down to an art form. We’ve spent more than 75 years refining our procedures...and our Swiss heritage ensures that your trip is trouble free to the last detail. With our more than 30 offices around the world, you have support when and where you need it, under any circumstances.
You have probably traveled independently before, but with Monograms your vacation will be easier. We take care of the details like your hotels, your airfare, your city sightseeing or orientation, then you get to decide what to do for the rest of your trip. We’ll be there to help you with dinner reservations or excursions to nearby attractions...whatever you need to make your vacation the one you’ve dreamed about. And you can have all this for a price that is less than you’d imagine. You get value for your money and far more than if you booked your own hotel and went on your own.
I've had both a mixture of crowds on the tours I've set up. I've had some elderly and some young.
I like dealing with any of the Globus family brands. I've done a full training on all their products and find they offer a lot in their tours

Re: Anyone Have Suggestions for European Tour Lines?
I used a Trafalgar tour to Italy a few years ago and the ages ranged from 25-60, with a bulk of the people around 40-ish

Re: Anyone Have Suggestions for European Tour Lines?
Globus is more expensive because they use nicer hotels than what Cosmos uses and they are in better locations. Cosmos uses less expensive hotels and they can be out of the way sometimes and they don't give you as many meals or included tours. I always said, you get what you pay for. The more money you spend, the more you get...(meals, admissions into sights, tours, etc)
