Anyone have the FLIP camcorder?
Is it worth buying? I have a regular camcorder but was thinking this was a good idea for on the go video especially with the new baby on the way.

Re: Anyone have the FLIP camcorder?
I do, I have the Flip Unltra 60-minute one. I LOVE it. Very easy to use and upload!
I got it when it first came out, and they have since come out with a newer, smaller version that uses a recharegable battery. Mine uses AA, and its not too bad.

Re: Anyone have the FLIP camcorder?
we have the FLIP and it's very cool. we bought it about a year ago, right before our HM. i wanted it because you can buy a case for it that allows it to be used underwater, which i thought might be fun in aruba. we honestly haven't used it much since then but i think it will be great once we have a baby b/c it's small enough to carry in my purse.

Re: Anyone have the FLIP camcorder?
Can someone tell me the difference between a FLIP camcorder and a regular camcorder? Is it just smaller and that you can upload the video directly to your computer? Is the quality as good?

Re: Anyone have the FLIP camcorder?
We have it, we got it for Christmas 07, it is a very cool thing. Especially for travel and for quick videos of DS.
We would probably use it more if it didn't take AA batteries, but I think the newer models have rechargable ones

i think the biggest difference is probably the size and the upload method. we don't have a regular camcorder so i can't really say but i'm guessing the quality is probably a little better on a regular. although, the movies from the FLIP are not grainy at all and look great!

Re: Anyone have the FLIP camcorder?
I don't know about the FLIP, but we bought (in 2007) a panasonic with a harddrive... we can also recharge the batteries...
we love it! it has image stabilization and 32X optical zoom... it's about the size of a soda can... we use it all the time to immortalize DS and his antics....
definitely get a camcorder with a harddrive and really good optical zoom

Couldn't you just buy some rechargeable AA batteries at Radio Shack and use those?

They range from $125-$220. The flip is not made by sony, but we got the sony version of the flip called the webbie. Its HD and has a little more zoom than the flip. It was $199. I have used it to take short videos of the babies and upload them to you tube and facebook. So far I like it although its not that great in low lights.

rechargable batteries really don't work well with electronics I've tried....

Re: Anyone have the FLIP camcorder?
I have the Flip Mino and I LOVE it. We used it on the honeymoon..it's so easy to just grab & take with you in your purse. It's actually smaller than my cellphone and the quality is great. It also has an attachment where you can play videos on your tv.

If they don't work well with electronics, what would they work well with?
