anyone have their gums cut??

I'm having this done in 2 weeks due to my labret piercing basically making me have no lower gums and i'm terrified. how bad is the pain after? how bad is the needle to numb it? do they give you drugs afterwards? i had a cleaning today and it was so painful (i'm pregnant) that my mouth is completely swollen. i don't even wanna know what pain i'll be in after this

honestly everyone deals with pain differently. When i do the same procedure on 2 different patient - ill have one patient say the healing was absolutly nothing at all while others will say they were sore for a coouple of days.
The injection to numb the area is not painful at all. Most of the time they will give u a rinse called Peridex - they may give u some pain meds but i see ur pregnant so it may be something mild.

Good luck.. the procedure itself is very short anyway...
Bring an ipod or something to distract u!!!

I had this done last week. My cleanings were getting so painful as well. It was uncomfortable afterwards, my dentist said to take two tylenol- and I was fine. They numb you so you can't feel it.
