We used this one this past summer at my dad's house as his pool is shaded. DS really liked it.
I wouldn't recommend it though if your DC was going to be in direct sunlight, you would be better off with one that has a canopy over it

even if he will have sunblock on, a rash guard thingy and a hat?

We had a similar one, and we went to Florida in JULY and DS was FINE. He wore a hat, sunblock and a rash guard and Whitey McWhite never got an ounce of color.

i think with all that you will be fine, i just tend to be a little nutty with DS being covered in the summer b/c he is fair

We have it...used it for Lucas this past summer and he loved it!! He wore a rashguard, hat and sunblock and we never had an issue with burns.

DD got it for her first birthday and HATED it. Screamed every time we put her in it. I don't know if this has anything to do with it, but she's been going to SafTSwim since she was 8 months old, and only wanted to be in the pool on her own with swimmies on.

I had something similar, but loaned it out and never got it back
I also have one with a canopy and honestly the canopy was a PITA, I always took it off. A hat, rash guard tee and some sunblock will be enough I think

We have one at my moms. DD liked it once she actually liked pool. Ours is a little different but we got it at a pool supply store. Island rec or something.

ITA. And definitely read the weight restrictions. The SECOND DS was a pound over the limit we had to stop using it.
He loved it though & loves the pool.
