Anyone have to do 24 hour Urine Test?
My doctor just ordered this for me. My bloodpressure has been up & down, and my bloodwork had some signs of possible preclampsia.
What do I do if I have plans to go out during that 24 hour period? Hold my pee or have to carry it around

I did this, but I was on bedrest when I had to do it. It was not a fun way to spend Thanksgiving.
I'd ask your doctor what you should do if you're going to be out.

Today actually. The doctor was concerned about the vaginal infection he found and my blood pressure was a little elevated, which since i have been pregnant my BP has been the lowest it's ever been but was elevated this morning. I found out results of the urine test and culture tomorrow. Im a little nervous!!

I did mine on a Sunday morning until Monday morning and just stayed home all day Sunday.
One piece of advice - the container they give you is huge. What my very smart DH suggested is peeing into a plastic cup and then dumping it into the big orange container. It worked so much better this way!!!!

I did, you do it when your planning to be home, adjust your plans accordingly or hold onto it till you KNOW you will be home.

i did it. i would do it on a day you can be home all day. b/c it needs to be refrigerated.

i did it...
after my first round of testing at winthrop they sent me home with it to start the next morning-
Yes- i worked that day- i found a large tote bag and used that to carry it back and forth to the bathroom. I brought large16oz plastic disposable cups rather than breaking out the pee hat for the toilet they gave me(that i used at home)
eta- the one they gave me DID NOT have to be refridgerated. they put some sort of powder thing in it when they gave it to me...

Definitely! It is very difficult to get that giant container under you! Pee in a cup then pour it in. Keep refrigerated...
Plan it for a day when you're home. You dont want to carry around little pee cups all day!
I had to do it to for BP reasons. The test came back fine, but my pressure is still inconsistent.

I had to do this test for DS. I took a day off of work to do it b/c they obgyn wanted it started that night. The next day I was put on bedrest for the remainder of the pregnancy. Honestly, I would not do it on a day where you have a lot going on. Mine had to be refrigerated.

I have done it twice now. Once I planned to be home for the 24 hours (with the exception of running a quick errand)
The second time I did it I was in the hospital. I have pre-eclampsia and am being monitored very closely.
