I am a nurse who deals with some of these problems-maybe I can help?

It runs in my dad's family, and I can't get tested until after the pregnancy and my blood goes back to normal, but it will affect my bc choices. I've tried doing some research online but it's all very technical and I'm very confused as to how likely I am to have it, etc. My OB feels like I've been on BCP for so many years it would have created a problem by now, but I don't know how comfortable I am with that rationale.
