Anyone interested in doing baby signs...
At Gymboree in Oakdale. I asked the lady who works there today and she said if she had 4 or more people interested she would put a class together. It would be $229.00 for 7 weeks & that includes free play gyms. Let me know if anyone is interested. TIA

A little off topic, but if you are interested in teaching your child sign language, these DVD's are AMAZING!! Both my sons LOVED the DVD's and picked it up so fast. signingtimes.com

Re: Anyone interested in doing baby signs...
Honestly...I think shes crazy to think that people should pay 36 dollars a class. Am I reading this right? We were there for classes for 10 sessions for 99 dollars. Plus we have given them business doing our play groups there as well. Is that the best she can do? I think thats steep. I bet if she lowered it to 10-15 then she would get about 30 of us vs 4. Maybe you should mention to her that we are from LIF and "could" get between 20 and 30 possibly.

Re: Anyone interested in doing baby signs...
Wow, I didn't even do the math. Maybe that was the price with 4 people? I'll ask her if she can lower it. I'm sure it will depend on the # of people who want to do it.
ETA: Still anyone interested let me know. If I can give her a solid # of people who will take the class, maybe she will come down on her price. TIA

Re: Anyone interested in doing baby signs...
not sure if you saw my other post related to baby signs, but I am a baby sign instructor, certified in the same curriculum that gymboree uses (sign, sign & play) i would be more than happy to do it, for free. I posted earlier this week that I am an ASL teacher, at SCCC, SBU, and teach at the HS level. I lovvve teaching it, and have a DS that is 5 mos old.

That is so nice of you! I did baby signs on my own with DS and it is great. He signs for drink, eat, more and all done. It really helps our communication. He has also made up his own sign for wanting out of his highchair. I really suggest it to everyone.

I must have missed it. That would be great, so nice of you to offer. Maybe we can get a class together to meet once a week? I'm sure most of the ladies would agree that we would def. pay you.

Re: Anyone interested in doing baby signs...
have you been talking to Claudine? Tell her that you are from LIF and we have done playgroups there and a bunch of us might want to do it. IMO...I would ask for 10 dollars/pp 15 pushing it. Tell her you "may" be able to get 20 people. Maybe some of us interested have friends off LIF. Doesnt hurt to ask. The math really kills the deal...thats ALOT of money.

Yes I spoke to her today, she is the one who gave me the price. I don't know if you read but LJBJ15 said that she is an ASL instructor & that she would be willing to help. Maybe we could do that instead of Gymboree? Have a weekly class at a local Library or I know Panera has a meeting room... Any thoughts? That is if it works for her.

That would be awesome...I'm sure a number of ladies would be interested. We could even meet at a local park when the weather gets nice or the Panera someone mentioned.

Re: Anyone interested in doing baby signs...
I am interested. I'd prefer not to have to travel to Oakdale and I would prefer to do something a bit more economical.

Re: Anyone interested in doing baby signs...
If people are interested I know where they are setting up a class in Nassau for a lot less - I think is was $120 for 10 sessions. It is ASL.
