Anyone interested in taking a Hypnobirthing class?

I contacted a teacher from hypnobabies to ask about classes.

Here is her response:

I'm glad you contacted me early, because a lot of moms contact me at 7+ months, which is not enough time for me to put together a group class. Therefore, I have only been offering private instruction so far. I can easily offer an exception for you, if you can commit to a start date/time at your home, or mine in West Hempstead,Long Island, since you have up to 4 mos for me to establish a group class for you as other moms reach me. This would also make the course significantly cheaper for you. Otherwise we can start sooner with private instruction. I was just asked by a mom what the differance is between doing the homestudy course and learning it with me. My answer to her is below

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Hypnobabies course I teach includes all the materials you would get in the homestudy course, except that I personally read the scripts to you, show 2 or 3 videos, guide you through the program, and support you on the path to self - discovery, self-knowledge, and hypno birth preparation. At this time, I am only offering private instruction, and I teach the 5 week course as 5 three hour classes for $500 in your home (in the New York area, NYC, Long Island, Queens, Brooklyn) or mine in West Hempstead, NY. That price includes all course materials but excludes basic travel expenses. I have taught the course this way 5 times this year very successfully

I'm kind of like a "doula-in-advance", so you can share the birth with those who are closest to you instead of me, and be prepared in advance so that you will have much joy to share with your family. This preparation is key, and when you are prepared for it, you may just have the most joyous experience of your life!

So I'm wondering if anyone would like to get a class started- either at my house in West Islip or her's in West Hempstead (or- if anyone else wants to host...)

Please let me know! I'm going to respond to her and tell her I may have others interested.

You can read more about hypnobabies

I know I'm a bit late with response, but I just recently started learning about hypnobabies.

Did you start the class, are you still looking for people?

Re: Anyone interested in taking a Hypnobirthing class?

I'm doing the HB home study course and so far I really like it. I'm very, very late in the game though (37 weeks). I started it at 36 weeks and it's helped me to relax beyond what I thought was possible. Who knows if it will help on birthing day, but I'm going to do my best to learn all I can now. So.....to answer your question....no thank you...to a group class. I'm way too late to start anything formal. But good luck. It's a great idea and a good curriculum.

I got DH to um "digitally borrow from his friends" the 6 CDs.
I also joined a hypnobabies yahoo group.

I'm not sure though if I just listen to the CDs, how often when, I need some instructions Chat Icon

I rather not take a class, if I can do it at home, but if the class really offers something extra I couldn't do on my own, then I might try it.
