Anyone Keep a Book List?

I decided to start keeping track of what I read last year - wanted to see how many books I read (I know I'm a dork.)

So - for 2008, I attempted 64 books - of that, I fully read 59 and started 5 but didn't finish because they were boring.

Just started mine for 09...

Anyone else?

Re: Anyone Keep a Book List?

I wish I did keep better track. Especially when I hear about a book I want to read then forget it when I go to the library. But through the library you can keep track of all the books you check out.

I joined shelfari.com. You can invite friends, join reading groups of certain genres, and keep track of the titles you read.

I have a blank book where I write the title, author, genre, 2 sentences about the book, and the date I finished reading it.

(Sounds like I'm OCD but I'm an English teacher, that's why I like remembering details about each book)

I joined goodreads.com. You can add friends, tag books you've read or plan to read, get info on books/authors, read other people reviews, etc...

Everything you wrote is exactly me...except I also write when I started the book!

Re: Anyone Keep a Book List?

It is something I never thought about, but I do have a listing on my facebook page called "Visual Bookshelf".

I might have to look into doing this.

I do Shelfari, it's an easy way to keep track of what I read and when I read it.

I also use Good Reads, but I am sporadic with my updates.

My husband is on some book related forums & many people there set a goal of 50 books a year, and a few do 75 , so 59 is a great #.

Re: Anyone Keep a Book List?

I keep track... I stared afew years ago and it has been great if someone lends me a book and I start it and think I have read this before I refer to my list

I keep track on GoodReads. Over the years I've sporadically kept written lists too. Also, I have an Amazon wish list, and I used that to help me keep track (Even though I only recently started using GoodReads, I went back to 2003 and added/categorized everything from my different lists, etc.)

Re: Anyone Keep a Book List?

I actually decided to make my own personal blog about what I am reading and what I have read.
Not much on it yet. But it is a start.

Thanks again for the idea.
