Anyone know
Anyone know, do they actually wipe the probe with an antibacterial wipe in between patients, then put the probe cover, or just put the new probe cover on? Inquiring mind wants to know.

They wipe it down.
ETA: They wipe it down when they change the room over. While they're changing the paper on the table, they also put on a new cover and apply the gel. At least that's how they did it at RMA. I've been in the room when they turned it over between patients.

I have seen my sonographer take the probe cover off; and wipe the actual wand with a paper towel in her hand; but its not actually disinfected; that I have seen.
She puts wand back (naked); and I believe the next nurse comes in and just puts on probe cover for next patient.
So; to answer; I really dont think they are getting cleaned in between visits.

The place I go, the wand gets a probe cover and than after used and the cover comes off they put it in a steralizer machine. Every time I've gone it's come out of the machine before using it for me and goes in right after. I've always felt very protected at my office.

So they wipe it with a wipe then put the new gel and cover on? Do they wipe it, then change the table, then put the cover and pad on? Those wipes need time to dry to work. Or do they just wipe it then immediately put the gel and new cover?

They wipe it down in front of me, and then at the end they wipe it down again before putting it back. So yes, I have seen it every visit.
