Anyone know a place that can reframe stained glass?
Not sure if that's what it's called but when we replaced our doors last year, I saved the stained glass inserts from both doors. The are so pretty and match my color scheme. i was thinking I could get them framed and put on chairs and hang in the window? I need a place to tell me if that would work or give another idea. But I have no idea where to look. I'm in Massapequa

Re: Anyone know a place that can reframe stained glass?
My mom does stained glass and has a ton in her windows. I think with the frame and the glass it would be super heavy. She adds loops to the metal and hangs it that way. I don't have any pics. Also, adding a frame, you lose a portion of the glass that you won't be able to see. Is it beveled glass around the edges?

There is a stained glass place in amityville on merrick rd. If you are going east, it's on the left hand side right after rt. 110.

Re: Anyone know a place that can reframe stained glass?
It's not beveled...I don't think so anyway, it's in my basement so I can't check at the moment. It has a "frame" around it right now but it's asection of the old door that framed it so it's not a decorative frame. I meant to say in my original post that I was wondering about hanging it from a chain not from a chair.
I guess I would be fairly close to the place in Amityville so I might drive by with it. I'm sure they can give me some ideas. I wish I could install it in the wall I have a spot where it would be beautiful and the light would come through it perfectly but i doubt that's a good idea since DH would probably be so against the idea of spending money to install it. And I don't even know if it's the same kind of item that would be installed. I do have 2 side windows on my bay window that would each accommodate each piece on a chain and look balanced.
Thank you for the responses.

Besides the place in Amityville, there is another on Smith Street in Farmingdale, east of 110.
