Anyone know anything about Mynassauproperty.com?

On the site you can look up any nassau property and it tells you fair market value......all that houses that I pulled up have higher asking prices than the market value.....anyone know anything about this? Should I take this into account when looking for a house?

the values on that site reflect the last assessed value. They're generally lower than a "fair market value" and therefore would obviously be lower than any asking price.

You WANT those numbers to be lower. Those are the numbers the town uses to figure out how much tax to charge you.

Thanks.....should I take it into account at all? Is there some math or something I can do to try and figure it out or no?

There is some sort of equation that is used to figure out how much tax you pay and how much you would save on the STAR.

I couldn't figure it out... but my wife was able to figure it out. When she told me our STAR discount (by doing the math) would be what my Realtor said it would be... I was satisfied.
