I don't have experience with Apple projects but I would think you would be able to convert & import it as a CSV file.

Transfering Files
If you are switching from a Windows-based computer to a Mac, one of the things you will certainly want to do is transfer your saved email addresses. Most email programs and providers support exporting a contact list to an Excel file, which can then be imported into the Address Book application on the Mac. Import your saved email addresses from an Excel file to bring your contact list from your old computer to your new Mac.

1 Use Excel to open the contact list that you intend to export. Check to confirm that each column has a label (e.g. "First Name," "Last Name," "Email Address") that you can use for mapping data to the Mac Address book. If the columns are not labeled, write down the content contained in each column to make the process of importing easier.
2 Click "File" in Excel, then click "Save As." Save your contact list in the comma-separated value (CSV) format, then move the file to your Mac.
3 Launch the Address Book application on the Mac by clicking the brown book with an "@" symbol on the dock, or by clicking the icon on the "Applications" menu.
4 Click the "File" menu at the top of the screen, hover the mouse pointer over "Import," and click "Text File."
5 Navigate to the Excel file that you moved to the Mac, then click it and click "Open."
6 Associate each column in the Excel file with a category in the Address Book. If the Excel file that you are importing has a title at the top of each column, place a check in the box labeled "Ignore First Card."
7 Click the "Import" button to finish importing the Excel file into the Address Book application.
