Anyone know of a really cheap car rental place?
I need to have something fixed on my car... we found one place that would charge $240, and that's for the CHEAPEST car for 3 days!!
I'm wondering if anyone knows of any better deals out there!!  TIA!!

check through AAA or BJs/Cosctco or maybe renting from the airport?
there's also zipcar - you pay a membership fee and then a flat fee per hour or day. I don't think they would be much cheaper though.

Check out Hotwire.com. I usually find the best deals on Hotwire. They rent through the big companies.

I've found that Budget is the cheapest place around. We rent cares pretty often bc we only have 1 car for now.

I used to work for Enterprise. You can get a cheaper rate if your car is in the shop. Make the reservation to have them pick you up at the shop and you'll get a better deal.

Thanks for the tips everyone..... I started looking into those options, but then realized something..........
You need to be over 25 to rent a car, and I will be 25 in 4 weeks!!!  We need it for THIS week...... Oh well....... 
We'll figure something out...

When I worked for them it was 21. Are you sure it's 25? It might just be one company.

Hmm, actually that's a good point, I thought it was that age for all of them.
Hertz and Enterprise both specialize in replacement cars (cars in the shop). I would call them directly and tell them the situation.

There are some companies that will rent to under 25, but it will cost more.
You might want to see if it'll be cheaper to have someone else rent it in their name then add you as an additional driver.

In NYS you only have to be 21 to rent a car....it part of some law. You do have to pay an fee though. its a $ amount per day if you are under 25.
