Anyone know of or use a "good" credit consolidation company?

I am looking for one that is NOT "credit counciling". Just more like a loan at a fixed rate and you close all the credit accounts.

sounds like you would just take out a personal loan.

or a home equity loan, then get the money and pay off your credit cards, "consolidating" the payment into the one you make on your loan.

I don't. I've yet to hear a good thing about them that doesn't effect your credit. Have you tried calling your cc companies and having them lower your rate? Or transfering it to another cc with 0%? I told mine that I was going to transfer to another cc with 0% and they lowered my interest.

Well, I know that at least one LIFer has posted abut using Greenpath with very good results. I have used a different branch of Greenpath to provide the required counseling for bankruptcy clients. I was happy with them even though their price was not very competitive for what my clients needed. I'm not totally keen on credit consolidation but it really depends on your situation.
