Anyone know of or used a prepare ahead gourmet food place
on Long Island? My friends in Florida use a place called Let's Eat where you go in and prepare a week like 8 meals ahead of time to take home and reheat when you like. They have all the ingredients chopped and ready to go at food stations and they serve wine and apps while you're making your food. Sounds like a great idea and a lot of fun. I'd really like to find an equivalent place around here.

There are a bunch of them on LI... of course I can't remember the name of it. Someone from here works for them. I know there is one next to Singletons in Bethpage right off Route 24

there is a place in the city, on 3rd ave b/t 62rd and 63rd... I forget the name of it, but I think it's a chain. I would maybe try to find the name, and then see where they have other locations-- perhaps they are branching out to LI.

Thanks everybody. I found SuperSuppers. Looks like what I was looking for but much more $$$ than it was in Tampa. I'll look at whats4dinner and see what that looks like.

I just checked out the whats4dinner site and it looked more expensive than SuperSuppers. I used SuperSuppers for a couple of meals, but you are right, it is very pricey.

If the food is really good and it's get me cooking on a regular basis it might be worth the expense. How was the food? Did you like it?

The food was good, but the entrees in general did not come with a side, so you either buy one of theirs or make one yourself. IMO we are either ravenous pigs or their portion sizes are a little on the small size. We ate between the two of us a meal that was supposed to feed 4. And we're not large people. We did a pesto chicken braided bread, a steak with salsa, and this month pre-ordered a coconut chicken (we went to one lesson and that day was given 20% off, so we pre-ordered a few dishes for months to come). Honestly after this month I don't think I would go again. The Boston Market $20 for a family of 4 deal is cheaper and includes so much more...I think I'll buy more of the cooked chickens from the supermarket that are cheaper and easier still.
