Anyone know the procedure if you think a debt on your report isn't yours?
There is something on my credit report from years ago and I don't think it is mine. What proof does the collection agency have that it is mine? It is from At&T wireless...and when I called AT&T they had no record of my account - by Social Security # or cell phone #. I thought that was very weird, and now I get a letter from this collection agency and I don't want to pay it if it is not mine. Anyone ever have this happen to them?
I know I can write a letter to the credit reporting agency but what do I write and what is the procedure then?

Just dispute it on the credit report... Let them do the research... You can also do the dispute online...
