Anyone know what happened on Montauk Hwy...
in Lindenhurst yesterday?
At the end of our street (3 blocks down) MOntauk Hwy was closed & they were deferring traffic down our street. DH had a NASCAR party & it was like Grand Central all day down our usually quiet street. (I wasn't home).
Someone said a mustang got wrapped around a pole & it fell on his car & went across Montauk Hwy, yet I didn't see anything on the news.
Anyone?

ETA: I saw the picture on Newsday this morning under traffic accident pictures and its not there now.

Weird....we thought maybe the person died & they didn't notify family yet?

A viper was going over 100 mph and got wrapped around a tree. The driver walked out without any major problems.
A family friend was an EMT on the scene.

Yes. My DH works for Babylon Town Dispatchng and took the 12 911 calls that came in.
The driver go out of the car before the pole fell onto it.
I was on my way to Stop and Shop in Amityville andhad to detour around it.
I always seem to be going that way when they close off Montauk Hwy.
