I think it means that if you go into labor your baby will come out "face-up"

It basically means that your baby is facing your tummy. The term itself means that the back of the babies skull is in the back of your pelvis.
It is more of a theory that babies facing this way cause more back labor than others. Although overall I think it does take these babiess longer to come out and that mom has to push longer...
I personally wouldnt worry about it right now..most babies twist and turn when the time comes...

Our lamaze teacher said it will be hard back labor (they recommend squatting or using the birth ball esp.) BUT that her son that was that way was the handsomest of all her children and also the most mild natured.

I think it could also mean how high up the bab y is. When I went to the hospital once, the nurse told me the baby was posterior. I looked it up and thought that the baby was face up. I was so upset. My dr said that the nurse was talking about position, not the baby facing up. The nurse gave me an internal, and the dr said she wouldnt be able to tell if the baby was face up just from an internal. So maybe this is true for you!
