Anyone know what time Disney is opened till in the colder months?
My SIL wants to goto Disney around thanksgiving. I told my DH I don't want to spend money to fly there. Spend money on a hotel and for park tickets for the park to close at 5pm.

I went in one of the LOWEST seasons twice..in January. The parks opened at 9 and closed at 7. (World Showcase was usually open until 9, which is the usual all year round)
But it's SOO cool and there are NO lines, so you can do EVERYTHING you want three times in that time period. Trust me, I never felt like the parks were closing too early at all! By 7pm, and having run all around doing everything a million times, we were tired. Plus with the parks closed you can ahve a nice leisurely dinner or go to DD or PI without feeling like you're missing out on park time. The winter months are my FAVORITE time to go.
If you're going very close to thanksgiving the parks my be open late b/c they may have a lot of people. If not, they say the month between thanksgiving and christmas is the absolute slowest time of year!
Seriouslt the parks do close a little early, but you have more than enough time to do everything in that time period because there are no lins. On our first trip, between fast pass and just no lines, we didn';t wait more than 10 minutes for ANYTHING..On our second trip, we went a little too early in jan and there were still soem christmas/new year's people there, but other than that it felt like we had the parks to ourselves!

Plus I wanted to add there'a huge advantage. When we went in the summer the aprks were open longer, but it was SO hot and the lines were so long we ahd to take a break in the middle of the day and go back to the hotel. When we went in january we were in the parks from 9am-7pm and then usually an evenign show or dinner and we didn't have to take any breaks. The heat makes such a big difference.

I went once around the time of Thanksgiving. The week of Thanksgiving, they extend their hours since there's a lot of families who take off the week to go down there. The rest of the time, it's SLOW. If you want to see WDW decorated for Christmas, but want to avoid the crowds. Go between the week after Thanksgiving and the week before Christmas. I was there for New Year's Eve once and it was packed - though very fun!
