Anyone know who the VIP is staying at the Waldorf Astoria?
we went to the city yesterday and drove past this hotel. there were secret service EVERYWHERE! not to mention NYPD tow trucks towing cars away from anywhere near the entrance.
on a side note, it's not really a secret when you're wearing a black bullet proof vest with "secret service" written on it in bright yellow

Could be any one of several heads of state - there's a big meeting at the UN this week so there are lots of people coming into town.

The UN convention is this weekend. I just had huge flashbacks of my wedding night (today's my anniversary actually!) We stayed at the Waldorf and there was also Secret Service evrywhere -- they and the NYPD all started clapping and holding people back while DH and I walked into the hotel. Total fairytale and DH's favorite part of our wedding.

I used to live in the area and that happened quite often at many of the hotels in that area...
The UN convention makes that area like a war zone...it is really insane the amount of $$$$ that goes into it!

OMG I would have LOVED that.
I am a huge attention wh0re and I loved the feeling of being important on my wedding day- so that would have taken the cake for me!

It's UN Week. My least favorite week of the year.
Thank god I don't drive into Manhattan anymore. Traffic on the east side is a nightmare.

It's UN Week. My least favorite week of the year.
Thank god I don't drive into Manhattan anymore. Traffic on the east side is a nightmare.
I used to work at the UN.
this was an awesome time for us there! (the hum in the air was incredible...even in lowly DCII)
I pray the leaders of the world can come together (even the Pres of Iran)
