Anyone listen to podcasts?

I never did but I recently got one of those bluetooth headbands to wear to bed to try to help me fall asleep to music etc.

The music wasn't doing it for me- so I started listening to a podcast and I have to say, it really helps me drift off. I think the listening to a story or whatever, keeps my mind focused on their words and prevents my mind from racing.

I finished the one I was listening to and am now looking for others.

Does anyone have any good ones to recommend?

I'm not sure if this is the best to put you to sleep but I love Crime Junkies. It's true crime stories that are roughly 45 minutes. I just started to listening to her other Podcast. Supernatural that I like. I listen to LISK also which is an in depth analysis of the Gilgo Beach murders.

i JUST unsubscribed to crimejunkie lol
i've been listening to way too much true crime and felt i needed to step away from the genre.

a good one to fall asleep to... which is also true crime is Swindled. his voice is monotone and perfect for drifting off.

I have been listening to FDS podcasts. It's a reddit subreddit that makes their own podcast. They have some interesting things to say, but I don't exactly agree with everything-- some things are a bit too extreme.

How does that work if you fall asleep? Do you just pick it back up to where you fell asleep the night before?

I listened to a LOT of crime podcasts for a few years, but now I'm back to Nerdist/ID10T. I like Chris Hardwick's style of interviewing (casual conversation) and he talks to a lot of interesting people (mostly actors and comedians). I just listened to one from 2018 with Alie Ward, and I really like her style, too. So I subscribed to her podcast - Ologies - where she talked to people in specific fields that end in "ology". Like screamology, neuropathology, forensic ecology, eudemonology, etc.

LOL yes. So the one i just finished was like 5 or 6 episodes. It took me forever to get through it because I would fall asleep half way through an episode then the next night I'd go back and try to find the last spot I remembered and re-start there.
It was kind of annoying, but it worked! Chat Icon

Re: Anyone listen to podcasts?

I just learned that there are podcasts for sleeping. Just search Bedtime stories for adults.
(
The one I like the most so far is Get ASLeepy. There are different narrators- I like the ones read by Thomas Jones. It is more about the voice than the story.

In the daytime, I listen to podcasts related to different interests. TV show re-watch podcasts are really popular right now: there are ones for saved by the bell, 90210, One Tree Hill, the Office, Gilmore Girls, New Girl, etc that involve vast members.

The One Tree Hill one is really good ( Drama Queens). They talk a lot about what it was like filming in a situation that wasn't great for young women & what they've learned since then.

NPR has a bunch of podcasts - I enjoy Life Kit.

There really is something out there for everyone- just search for your interests.
