Oh my God they are precious! I want one so bad but unfortuneatly my cat could not handle a baby brother or sister. She is way to high strung to be anything but an only child!
I am sure they will find good homes! They are adorable!!

Is your friends cat an outdoor or indoor cat?

I have to be honest - and please don't take this as a flame at you - I am pretty sensitive about this topic. I find it extremely irresponsible of your friend to have an outdoor cat that isn't fixed.
Every summer its the same thing - dozens of stray litters to home. Its frustrating enough with strays. But this - a person who "has" an outdoor cat and doesn't fix them is obscene.
The "owner" should catch the cat immediately and take her to a clinic to get spayed. That is the minimum they should do. If they can't afford a vet, then they can't afford this pet.
If your friend needs the names of TNR programs in his area please let me know. Because if he can't home these kittens, it is now his responsibility to have them fixed when they are old enough.
It was nice of you to try to help though. Thanks for posting the pic - I hope your friend does the right thing.
Good Luck!
