Anyone NOT use HD Lowes or Consumers for kitchen cabinets??
Who did you use?? what brand of cabinet did you go with?? and are you happy????

I used Riverhead Building supply 13 years ago for my cabinets...no clue what the brand was...we chose "middle grade" not the best, not the cheapest...and they still look and function well. HTH

We went to Kitchen Depot in Hauppauge and had custom cabinets made for less than it would have cost us elsewhere and we LOVE them. I'd highly recommend checking them out!

We used Kitchen Masters in Bohemia - used them for bathroom vanities but they do an extensive kitchen business. Great service and quality.

I just ordered Woodmode's Brookhaven line through Kitchen Designs by Ken Kelly. I did a lot of research and Brookhaven has excellent reviews, plus I LOVE the options they offer. Brookhaven is a semi custom line while Woodmode is full custom, so it was cost effective for us to go with Brookhaven and use Woodmode only in areas where we need full custom cabinetry.
I'll let you know if it lives up to the reviews in April! Fingers crossed.
Oh, and so far I have LOVED working with Kitchen Designs by Ken Kelly. Mario is our designer and he came up with a kitchen I never would have imagined. I had been to Consumers and Home Depot for layout sessions as well and felt like I was basically picking the layout myself while the consultant made the clicks on the computer—and the result of those meetings was totally lackluster.

they come on wed / thurs. i'll definitely let everyone know my experience. i fthey are good, they are half the price of HD.

I brought the previous homeowners kitchen measurements (they went to consumers and had plans drawn up... can't imagine they'd buy the crap that was there!) it was just about dead on, except for a small cabinet that will need to be swapped out for a little corner piece by my window that has open shelves? this is where i will grow my fresh herbs... 
but, my point in all that was to tell you to MAKE SURE they come to measure. even though they ordered a different cabinet, they didn't charge me for it! At least yet!

Did you go to their Huntington Station shop to view your cabinet. I saw a few style/color cabinets in their site that would work for us. How was the quality???

Don't mean to hijack, but wanted to let the parties interested know that we received our cabinets, and only one box is half open. we hope to install tomorrow.

Went to HD just to get another price quote.........17K  following 16k last week from a private lumber yard  oh and thats just for cabinets that my DH will install.........

I am also a happy customer of Ken Kelly Designs. I have cabinetry from Woodmode's Brookhaven line. I am soooo happy with them and with the service we received at Ken's design studio. We have gotten so many compliments on our kitchen!

how many lineal feet of cabinets are you getting and what is the wood? (maple? cherry?)- I bet my dad can give you better quality for less.

We have about 33-34 feet that includes the island we want. It's a big kitchen and we know it's not going to be cheap(plus we are insisting on all plywood boxes/full wood doors) but the quotes are insane! I am sending you an FM
