Anyone notice (I could be paranoid) that their hair seems...
thinner/thinning on BCP? I take Yasmin and I feel like my hair is looking thinner at the crown. When I part it, I do see some scalp.

I've noticed my hair got thicker going off BCP...so maybe its a side effect.

on my last pill i used to notices some hair loss - like chunks in my brush
so far on this pill i have not seen that yet

Since I've been on YAZ, my scalp has become much more dry, but no significant hair loss.

You're not crazy...it's a fact...
"Birth control pills can cause a temporary change in the hair growth and shedding pattern, so if you are suffering from a non-hormonal cause of hair loss, and you take oral contraceptives, they might aggravate the loss, but they won't cause the loss," says Azizz.
ETA: I googled hair loss on BCP and got a lot of responses.
It seems to be temporary though!

I never noticed my hair thinking because of BCPs..
But in general as one gets older you hair does thin out..

Thanks! I stopped by my mom's to pick something up and I asked her to look. She thinks I'm nuts and doesn't notice a thing. I picked up some Nioxin shampoo/conditioner...just in case!

Mine tends to go through phases like that...almost like I shed! I'll notice it thins out for a little while and then stays the same or gets fuller and then the cycle repeats itself. I've noticed it in the beginning of the winter or the beginning of the summer. Sometimes I think its hair breakage though bc I do have dry hair; I try to deep condition it sometimes to avoid that.

Just be careful w/ Nioxin. When my hair was thinning due to meds I tried it and had a bad reaction. My scalp felt like it was burning and it got sores. It was pretty bad.

I hadn't thought about it before. I was on Yasmin for about 3 1/2 years & over the past year & 1/2 my hairdresser has mentioned many times that my hair was thinning asking if I was on NEW meds. I told her no because I after 2 years I didn't consider it new. I just switched BCP last month to Yaz so I'll have to see if there is any change over the next several months.
