Anyone own an expensive hair dryer?

and if you do is it worth the extra dough?

I have seen advertisements for HD's that are nearly 200 bucks and seemingly they are stronger and dry your hair faster - I could do with that but dont know if its worth it.

Any recos appreciated.

Re: Anyone own an expensive hair dryer?

I have the Super Solano it was about $75. I have long thick hair and this made a difference. I think it works better and also lasts longer. I can't even remember when I bought it. I used to go through the ones that you find at CVS or Ulta every few months.

I think it was totally worth it for me. I don't really know anything about the HD dryers but I love mine.

Re: Anyone own an expensive hair dryer?

I have the Elchim Uragano, based on LIF recommendations Chat Icon . It was either $120 or $160 Chat Icon . I do not notice that it is stronger, just that the air comes out differently. I am very happy with it and I think it was worth it. I still only blow dry my hair when I have to. It's a task that I have never liked and I prefer to let my hair air dry even if it does not look as good.

Totally worth it. I had a Solano for years and it recently died. I replaced it with a 2000 watt Rusk Speedfreak (yes, that's the name!!) and I LOVE IT!!!! My hair is done in about 6 minutes!

My sister has the Rusk Speedfreak too and I like hers, but I found that it is really heavy. That is the only bad thing I can say about it. I bought the T3 from sephora ($300) and I do notice that my hair is not as damaged and comes out pretty shiny after blowdrying.

Re: Anyone own an expensive hair dryer?

Does anyone know where I can buy either the Elchim 2001 or the Super Solano? I was going to order one amazon, but my haridryer crapped out on me yesterday and I need one for Thursday. The Elchim 2001 is $79 on amazon.

TIA

Re: Anyone own an expensive hair dryer?

I used to have the Babyliss. I LOVED THAT DRIER SOOO MUCH! But it dies after about 4 years and it was dicontinued completely (it was about $100). Now I just bought Galaxy. This was $100. It seems to be ok. Heavy, but works good.
