Anyone put radiant floor heat in their home?

So we are converting before we finish the basement, a friend mentioned that if we wanted to do radiant floor heat we should do it before we finished the basement. What does something like this cost? We would be looking to do out first floor only which is @ 1000 sq ft, thanks

We just put it in. It's pretty expensive! DH put in all the tracks and tubing so we just paid a plumber for the manifolds and hookup and new water heater/boiler. Just that was $10k
