Anyone receive Tiffany dishes as gifts for you DC?
2 of my dad's friends got us such nice dish sets from Tiffany's - one set has a little fire dog and fire engine on it, and the other has race cars...
my question is this - what do I do with them???
Its not like I'm going to use them to actually feed Cailen with - one swipe with an enthusiastic arm, and they will be in a million pieces. I feel silly using them for us though, and I don't have room on his furniture to display them
They are so nice, its a waste to keep them in the boxes - where they are right now - so what should i do???
ETA - here they are:

I got a set also for my kids when they were born. I put them in my wall unit where I have my good china. I couldn't leave them in the boxes either.....

If we had a wall unit, I would do that - but we don't... That would be ideal!
Oh well - maybe one of these days we will have a wall unit, and then I'll put it in then...

I'll let you know when I open them.
A nice gesture but a waste.

I was actually thinking of returning the race car one - I don't like the pattern - I already have 2 gift cards from tiffany's I received last yr for my wedding, but haven't redeemed - I was thinking of getting another credit and getting something else there - is that bad?

Noooo....I think it's best that you get some use out of them.
The silver Tiffany rattle is ideal for when teething starts.
eta. also a nice watch for yourself, you could use for feedings.

I don't have enough store credit for a watch from Tiffany's!!! Wish I did!
Are you serious about actually using the silver rattle for a teething baby????

Oh - maybe I will get that then - I didn't want to get something for me with the credit from the dishes that were supposed to be for him - I feel thats not right - I would like to have something he can have and cherish and pass down to his kids someday (good god - I'm going to be a grandma one day????? )
ETA - is this the one you ladies got?
or this one?

we bought Ella the "man in the moon" rattle/teether for Christmas (it was the only thing we bought her). She LOVES it.
Its stayed cool, and felt good on her gums.
(and it makes a nice keepsake, which was what I wanted for her first Christmas gift)

Yes, silver naturally stays cool so the baby can chew on it for a long time and get relief. Totally safe, no way for the baby to ingest metal if that's what people are concerned about. We've had more than one of the water filled teethers burst when the kids were chomping on them.
We have the first one, but love the man in the moon one, so cute!

I gave those as a gift to a friend when she had her first. She used them. She just never set them where the baby could knock them over.

Interesting..I would think it would have a strange taste though. They are cute and make a nice keepsake.

Re: Anyone receive Tiffany dishes as gifts for you DC?
My mom got each of my kids a dish set from Tiffany's for their first birthday - as a keepsake, definitely not to use. my son actually has that firehouse dog set, which I think is so cute! I display them on a shelf in thier room. They can't reach it and I want them to have them to display when they get older too. It's a sentimental thing, I don't really think its a waste. Two maybe, but one set is nice to have.

Totally off topic but we got a silver teething ring as a gift- beautiful but I thought useless. I am so excited to use it tomorrow for her poor little gums.
