I was thinking about it. I'm not registered yet so I will decide that morning. I have a GTG to attend with my 2 year old at 11am, so I will have to run quick!

I can't decide between this one and a couple that are on Sunday. Has anyone ever done this one? How is the parking?

I have never done this race so I am no help. Which one are you thinking about for Sunday?

there are 2 that I know of on Sunday - Brentwood and Patchogue.

I saw that this course in Seaford is pretty flat. I am still having bad knee pain (especially downhills) so was leaning towards this one. HTH!

Thanks - Yep, the Pancake Run in Brentwood and Toy Trot Patchogue. I've done the Brentwood one and it's super flat!! Hope your knee feels better.

It's about the same amount of driving time for me, I think. I'm on the south shore of western suffolk, so Seaford might be a bit easier, but I don't think it's much of a difference. Decisions, decisions....

Re: Anyone running the Seaford Hot Chocolate run on Saturday?

I live in Seaford and yes I will be doing this run again. I did it last year. I am doing it with a bunch of my friends from World Gymm I run with and I am sure many of them will place not me I am only in the 28's! It is totally flat and an easy run and the bagels after are good. The bagels and awards are inside so we don't have to freeze outside! Good Luck tomorrow everyone!

Hi, do you know where is a good place to park where I will be able to leave right after the race? I looked at the course map and it appears that the start and finish are on Seaman's Neck Road, so I'm assuming it will be closed and I won't be able to get back to Sunrise.

If you get there a bit early you can park in the highschool parking lot and the blocks around there. You shld be okay finding parking!

Re: Anyone running the Seaford Hot Chocolate run on Saturday?

Just got back from the race. It was very well organized, great course, and a great turnout.

My running was less than stellar (for me). I ran even 27 minutes. I don't really know what happened. I know at the beginning of the race I was weaving in and out of people (even though I started in the 8minute corral I felt the people around me were going very slow for that pace). I maintained a pretty good pace for most of the race- just not fast enough.

I know a sub 26 min 5k is very possible for me. Today was just a bad day.

For the ladies who decided not to do: I highly reccomend it for next year. It was one of the most well organized runs I've (as far as smaller runs on L.I) with alot of great raffles (and hot chocolate, coffee, and bagels!)

Congratulations, great job! I wanted to try this one, it's nice to hear it was organized. There's nothing worse than a race that is not organized, it just sets the tone for the entire race. You will break 26 minutes; I know how it feels when you have your mind set on a time. Like you said, sometimes it's just not your day. That makes all the difference in the world. Also, the weaving sometimes wears you out, I find myself doing that often, it can be frustrating when people don't start in the proper area for their pace. If you like the cold, there will be several opportunities to do it on some flat courses come January!!
