Anyone see dr. Trongone's new partner yet?
Tried to make an appointment today and had to go with the new partner or else it would be October before I saw an ob. Not pregnant yet but for a belated checkup. Was wondering of anyone had experience and if you liked the new partner. TIA!

Something to consider about solo ob's - my ob that I went to for DD1 was a solo ob, but he only delivered when he was on call, which were set days. I was sent to be induced and he wasn't on call for the next few days, so I had doctors that I never met checking on me and a doctor I never met that delivered DD1. I HATED the way that worked and switched to Trongone for this pregnancy. Trongone delivers all of his babies unless he is on vacation. I assume he will have days where he is on call and his partner is on call when the partner comes in, but to me that is a much better scenario than the one I had with DD where I had never met those doctors. At least with two doctors you will get to meet and know them both (as opposed to a practice of 5+ doctors where you never really get to know any of them).
In short, before going with a solo ob, I would find out what the plan is for delivery, because that is when you need someone you trust the most.

What about Dr Jessica Jacobs? She delivers all of her patients but the down side is she doesn't really offer evening hours so for someone like me that works until 4/4:30 that doesn't work.

I hear Dr. Trongone's new associate that will be starting in July is amazing just like him. All the nurses in L&D rave about him!!!!!!!! It says a lot for a doctor when all the L&D nurses use him and can't wait for his associate! HTH

Really??? Who told you this? I want to switch to Trongone. My sister goes to him and I need a NSUH OB but I wanted to find out more about his new associate first.

Hmmmm...I heard that the new associate is starting in July when the residency program ends as in they are fresh out of residency. But, this was from another patient not the office. I'm curious now to see what the story is.

I would be SO mad - isn't that the point of going to one of those big practices? Same thing happened to my SIL, since my nephew was born on a holiday weekend. That's when I decided to stick with a solo ob, since you really just never know, and at least I have 9 months of being comfortable with one doctor.
ETA - my point in the original post is not that you shouldn't use a solo ob (bc I obviously still do), just that you should ask if they deliver all of their babies or only deliver when on call.

Re: Anyone see dr. Trongone's new partner yet?
I am not really a fan of solo practices! When I had my oldest I was using a solo OB and when I went into labor a different doctor from another practice was on call.
I would rather see a doctor (which I am doing) with 5 OBs and get a few appointments with each of them during my pregnancy. When the time comes for delivery it's not a stranger. I'm having a scheduled c-section anyway so I hope I get the doctor that I prefer.

I was just at Dr. Trongone today for my 6 week pp check up. The new dr is Dr. Justin Petrocelli. He's starting this summer and is supposedly just as amazing as Dr. Trongone!

My solo ob comes unless he is on his one week long scheduled vacation per year. So not all solos work like that. Just an fyi. Definitely something to ask!

Yes, this is correct. Everyone loves Dr Trongone & his staff. You cannot go wrong with them & I would feel confident that his new partner would be just as great.

I also heard that the resident starts in July. And they will be alternating Friday's --- so you will be seeing them both throughout your pregnancy... as for who delivers, it would be whichever one is on call the day you deliver. I ADORE Dr. T and have faith that is associate will be great too.. but still hope I get to deliver wth the man himself lol.
