Anyone see the story from Diana Williams from NBC News regarding her son

It's time to tell you about the "accident". A week ago on Father's Day we got the call no parent wants to get. Our son Nat was severely injured in an accident, a bad one. A 22 year old driver in a pick up truck ran a red light. Nat was riding his motorcycle headed to Tyndall AFB in Panama City. He didn't have a chance to break or swerve--he hit the passenger side of the truck straight on... suffering traumatic brain injury and breaking everything from his arms to his pelvis to his nose and eye sockets. Thankfully he was wearing a helmet-a good one.
He lost 6 pints of blood during surgery from the internal bleeding- We got here Sunday night and for the next 3 days didn't know if he would make it. No words can adequately describe the pain and anguish we have felt or the tears that we have shed.
My husband is heroic...less than 90 days from a stem cell transplant and he is pulling on inner strength and stamina I never imagined. Lots of family members are here. So is his girlfriend. None of us have slept much, but Nat's Air Force family and my ABC family have wrapped their arms around us--we want for nothing.
Nat's fellow pilots have flown by his hospital window....dipping their f-22 wings in his honor...hoping he will hear the roar of the Raptor's engines and wake up. He has not regained consciousness, but on Friday we rejoiced when he seemed to open is eyes just the tiniest bit. My friend, Lee Woodruff, reminded me her husband and my fellow ABC colleague Bob was in a coma for 35 days..it will take time for his brain to heal.
Right now the Air Force is helping us move Nat to Walter Reed Hospital in Maryland....it's the best trauma hospital in the world and the right place to deal with all his many injuries. We hope for safe transport early this week. We know that he will have many months of surgeries and rehab at Walter Reed. We have a long uncertain road in front of us.
The accident investigation continues. I am not angry, but I do wonder if the driver was texting or on his phone. Family and friends are praying for us...and I have hugged and cried with a lot of other families in this trauma unit - many of them are feeling the same pain. I'm not wasting time asking why....it just happened.
I have now spent more time in ICU's than I ever thought possible: from Sloan Kettering to Bay Medical. Once again, nurses remain our unsung heroes. I love them all. And they have loved my son.
On this Sunday, hug your children or someone you love and say a prayer for my boy. He is my Christmas baby....born on the 25th of December, a gift from God and I need him to come back to us. Once again, your prayers, now for my son, are so greatly needed and appreciated.
So very sad.

I remember her when i was growing up in Boston, she was on a local station there before coming to NY

She's on abc news, eyewitness news. They've had a rough couple months. Another newscaster past from a very sudden aneurysm.
Prayers for her son and justice is served for that driver if it was reckless, caused by texting etc.

Diana also was on leave recently since her husband had a stem cell transplant - he has only been out of the hospital a little over a month!

My FCUKUNG brother just bought a motorcycle because its his dream.
I HATE HIM FOR IT. (I Love him, but I hate him for getting the thing).
May G-d have mercy on that family.

Prayers for them.
All reckless drivers should be prosecuted and punished regardless of whether or not they are "unlucky" enough to ruin someone else's life.
It's the only way to protect innocent people.
