Anyone so miserable at work
and doing nothing about it?
I've been working for my boss for about 5 years, we used to be super close but things have slowly deteriorated to the point that we barely even speak.
a couple of weeks ago, he sent me an email that literally hurt so bad, i almost quit right on the spot, but i knew i'd be totally screwing the whole office including him.
yesterday, i found a list of things i have done "wrong" over the last week that he has been keeping. It doesn't matter that over the last month or so i've acquired the workload of 2 other people or that I don't take lunch.
i don't know what to do.

Re: Anyone so miserable at work
I am completely miserable at my current job and am ACTIVELY seeking new employment.
Get out of there!! Life is too short to be miserable at work. You spend too much time there for it to be miserable.

Re: Anyone so miserable at work
Once things turned around in my life that gave meaning to work, things have been better, but I also realized I have to find something better. I can relate to your misery, though.

Re: Anyone so miserable at work
i was miserable and was looking, and then was let go for a b.s. reason. what i've learned though is this -- if you're unhappy with the working relationship, no matter how hard you're working, no matter how good of a job you're doing, chances are your boss is unhappy with you too. Sadly, this list is probably an attempt, a starting point, to get you out. keep in mind that business is business - stop thinking about doing what's right for the office and do what's right for you. if i were you, i'd start looking pronto.

Take it from a person that was laid off recently. No matter how miserable you may be, and believe me I was very miserable at my job, Do not quit without having another job waiting. If you get laid off then you can collect unemployment. If you quit, you will have nothing.
It is not fun....

I completely agree with this!
you need to start sending out your resume. once you start getting calls for interviews, you will be more motivated.
good luck

Re: Anyone so miserable at work
You don't owe them anything. If you are unhappy start looking. That list is crap and sounds like your bosses CYA file. Your boss is looking out for themselves, so you have to look out for you. Many other places will appreciate your skill set. I got hired by a job when 10 weeks pregnant, so don't be afraid to look. I worked it out in the negotiations how my pregnancy leave would work. And if you can take some time off (aka quit and look for a job), especially with twins on the way, I would. Your boss is playing games, you deserve better.
