Anyone start school today...

So today AJ had his first day of K in his new school. he is in a self contained class, district, and in our home school.

they have 2 NT K classes and 2 k-2 classes.

the classrooms are across from each other, NT on one side and the self contained on the other.

Apparently AJ is the ONLY self contained child K-6 that is being dropped off and NOT being bussed. so what they do is take the kids 3-6 and bring them into the K hallway and exit them through those classrooms.

ALL other K parent pick their kids up through the K entrance.

so i made a tiny little stink that it wasnt fair that AJ would have to enter and exit through a separate entrance because i am picking him up. so i spoke with the teachers and aides and they agreed to let drop off and pick up with all the NT kids.

Over all he liked school and had a decent day.

That's great they were accommodating! : ). I am the exact opposite and would prefer DD being taken out a separate exit. She doesn't do well in crowds and the end of day transition is a tough one for her. I think it's great they listened and acted upon your request so fast. It a good way to start the year!
