Anyone switch from Verizon TV,Internet,Phone
I currently have Verizon for TV, Internet and phone service, however, they are in the process of turning off my internet service, as my 1yr contract is up. I had no idea it was up, never received any request from them for renewal and now Im being told that I have to wait for the full disconnect and then 7-10 business days for them to reconnect my service.
Im thinking of switching to Optimum for all three services, just not sure what others think. Since Ive relocated I've had numerous problems with billing,service and have spent multiple hrs on the phone just for them to "look into my account" and be able to refer me to a different dept that cant help me.
Anyone have any experience with both companies and who do you prefer.

I had Verizon - LOVED it - but Optimum made me a better offer. MUCH better. So I switched back to them. As long as I don't need to call customer service, Optimum is fine.
VERIZON had great service while I was with them.. however it has been a NIGHTMARE dealing with them during cancellation. I cancelled in February and have had to call EVERY MONTH to get them to stop billing me. They acknowledge that they screwed up.. but keep on sending bills! It's been incredibly frustrating!

I've been with Verizon Fios for over a year, and I didn't have to renew my contract and they never shut off my service. Thats weird...

When we moved, we planned to use Verizon since that was our old carrier and we wanted to keep our phone number (didn't move far). Anyway, they were such a nightmare to deal with, truly horrible customer service and repair service. No one communicated, no one knew why our service would not connect. We had repair people to the house a few times, and they would sneak off without explaining what they did or didn't do. So after almost two weeks with no connection with the outside world, we cancelled and went with Optimum. So satisfying to call Verizon and cancel! So, no I hate Verizon with a passion. I don't want FIOS just because of this experience.
