anyone take amoxicillin while pregnant?
I have been such a mess healthwise for the last two weeks. Last week it was a debilitating headache that kept me in bed for two days, followed by major sinus pressure. This week its a horrible sore throat and cough. Doc put me on amoxicillin yesterday. I absolutely hate taking drugs during pregnancy and I feel like I have had to take so many lately. Is it safe? Also what can I do to avoid getting a yeast infection -which I often do from antibiotics?
Arg this is all on top of trying to move into our new house! Dh also has poison ivy - we are quite the pair over here.

yes i took it bc i HAD to i had 104 fever and tylenol wasnt cutting it and turned out to be a nasty sinus infection....doc said it was safe and wouldnt give me anything that wasnt....ps i was still in hysterics that i had to take it but i did .....sidenote i got a rash from it and they think it was bc i am allergic...never did take it before so they didnt know if it was bc of the pregnancy or bc im really allergic to it....as for a yeast infection i didnt get one and i usually do but i didnt do anything to prevent one....if ur worried have yogurt everyday or ask doc to take acidopholus

Yes, I was prescribed amoxicillin with I was a little over 10 weeks because of a bad cold. It was perfectly safe and our little guy is doing just fine.

Yes I took it around 11-12 weeks because of a sinus infection. Everything was perfectly fine.
Make sure you take it all!!

katie i am so sorry you are sick! i don't have any experience with amoxicillin but i wanted to say feel better

It's totally safe. I was on ampicillin for a UTI a couple of weeks ago. They're safe for pregnancy antibiotics, don't give it a second thought. Take them and feel better!

I took it while pregnant with DS because I had bronchitis. They have a list of "safe" medicines to take while pregnant. The only thing I did was have my primary care doctor confer with my OBGYN to let them know what I was on. Figured it was better to cover all bases.

I took macrobid and ampicillin for utis.

I was also on amoxicillin twice during my pregnancy....I believe as long it is given to you in a low dosage..it should be fine..problem is that you tend to get those pesky yeast infection...

I was on it for a UTI a few weeks ago. I was eating yogurt 2x a day and taking special probitics especially for vaginal flora and I STILL got the most massive yeast infection of my life 
I ended up on a 7 day course of monistat after that..........
Sorry you have been so sick!! I hear you! I've been battling an upper respiratory infection for over a week!

I took it too... during my 3rd trimester (just a little over a month ago) i had a kidney stone/infection.
