Anyone take LIRR from Little Neck or Great Neck?
Does anyone know about the LIRR parking situations at these 2 stations? Cost of lots? We're considering a house that is equal distance to both stations (but unfortunately not walking distance which is what we really wanted.)

DH and I used to commute every day from Little Neck for years. We used to park on the streets, I can't remember how much the lot was. Never had a problem.

Thanks! So there was ample street parking? That would be GREAT news! We are so spoiled now and can walk to the train and I don't miss the days of driving around looking for a spot.

The cost of the Douglaston lot is $7.25----i think it's about the same at Little Neck.

Per day?! Is there a monthly/annual parking permit? I remember when I lived further out on LI it was like $40 annually.

There really isn't parking in Great Neck for commuting.
There is parking in the municipal lot & you need proof that you live in town. You need to call Great Neck Plaza and ask them.
Did you look into the bus? Many people take the bus to the train from Kings Point and northern Great Neck.
I'm within walking distance to the train, so I'm no help. Sorry!

I used to walk to Little Neck, but I am pretty sure the lot there is tiny.
There is street parking, but I never would depend on just that.
Sorry. That doesn't help much does it?

There is street parking in Little Neck but you have to hunt for it and it often depends on what time you take the train (the earlier the better).

Well I just realized the house we like is about .8 mile from the Little Neck train (closer than I thought) so I think we may consider walking (if our offer is even accepted...haha). Maybe in the colder months we'll try street parking.
