anyone take Metoprolol ?
and have side effects from it ?
I started taking it in December for my high blood pressure in addition to amlodepine, and since then I feel like crap. I am exhausted all the time, even though I do get enough sleep.
I also feel a lot more palpitations, but shouldn't because the metoprolol is supposed to slow the heart beating.
DH takes it too after his heart attack, but at a lower dosage and he doesn't feel anything.
I'm thinking about seeing his cardiologist for a consult.

You need to mention this to your doc. Immediately. High blood pressure is one of those things that can be really difficult to control properly with meds and everyone has different side effects. I'm currently on 300mg labetalol 3 times a day (yes crazy high dosage) from my pregnancy induced hypertension and I really don't think its the best med for mec it's just what I can take for now with the breast feeding.

I am on 3 drugs for the BP, but since Metoprolol was added, I feel like crap.
I see the doc every 3 weeks or so and mentioned this to him at my last visit, but he just kind of waived it off.
I was hoping the fatigue would wear off as I got used to the dosage, but I feel like it is getting worse.
I see him next week.

I take metoprolol for about 6 yrs and I was started it I was totally exhausted, it takes time for your body to adjust I was told, and as of now I seem fine, I am only taking 25mg x adayl....

My dad takes it along with a bunch of other things. I don't think it causes any side effects per se. But he is tired a lot BUT he's 71 and doesn't sleep well at night. He also gets bouts of "vertigo" it hasn't been diagnosed as vertigo but that's what he describes it as.
