Yes - we had a head sonogram for my DC when she was an infant at LIJ schneider's - at a few months old - the sonogram took less than one minute - it was quick and painless - they might just have to hold the child down for a couple seconds to have it done. The tech could see from the sonogram that everything was perfectly normal with her development and that there was no reason for any concern - and she was absolutely right! She told us right then and there - we went home very happy.

She's a perfectly normal child -her head circumference was a bit larger than other infants at that age - not much - and that is why she suggested we go ahead and have one done.

DD#2 is well off the charts in size and one side has closed but not the other and some other things. Both the ped and neuro said she is advanced so they don't see deficits which is good.

I havent' but my mom did with my brother, 40 years ago.
He was fine, after that all the kids have big heads, my DS included but it seems to just be genetic.

GL!

ETA: DS has always been near the 95% to off the chart at times for his HC. BUt its also inline with the rest of him which has never dipped below 92% in height or weight.

Yep! With both of my kids.

DS needed a CT scan, DD just had a sono. The sono was very quick and we went to Good Sam for it. They were great! I held her and she was a little upset because this "thing" was on her head moving around, but it was over in about 5 minutes.

DS had one at birth since his ventricles were determined to be enlarged in utero. The sonogram was painless & done within 5 minutes. His head circumference has been fine though, 50th percentile since birth

ds hasn't had to go, he is 97% and has been since birth. since there had been no change, the docs decided not to send him

Thank you for sharing!!!

It turns out DD is just well off the charts (she is just over 19.5 inches at 9 months - turned 9 months today). They did find some fluid between the brain and the skull but I was told it was benign and not a concern.
