anyone that used BEST FRIENDS dog training... PLEASE RESPOND!!!
i just had john from best friends' dog training come to the house, for an evaluation.
i have 2 dogs, they are 4.5 (quinn) and 2yrs (ava) old. my biggest problems are with the 4.5yr old... quinn is nasty when someone comes to the door, and in the house, if he doesn't know them extremely well. he barks and barks and growls and jumps, trying to nip people's fingertips. then ava starts barking bc she doesnt know what's going on. it's nearly impossible to have the ups man, or a neighbor or a worker come by. my other issues are with walking them. if someone comes up to us, forget it. plus, ava pulls constantly and chases every animal that she sees, and quinn tries to run after every car. not only is it annoying but i worry that he'll get hit by a car one day. my other issues with them are smaller, mostly just jumping up when people are eating, or barking at the window when anyone passes by the house.
for both dogs, john gave me a price of $1500. i wanted to throw up. that's A LOT of money. but i am trying to look at the grand scheme of things... quality of life for the dogs AND for me. so i really want 100% honest opinions from people who have used best friends... and with hearing my issues... do you think the money is worth it?

We used them and thought the price was totally worth it. A lot of the cost is the collar. they are expensive and you will need two.
our dog was jumping on everyone (in a friendly way), pulling on walks, counter surfing, etc.
Frank and john were the tainers. they were wonderful. they came to the house for lessons and we continue to go to the group classes. Max was listening after the first lesson. And the group classes are good because he learns how to behave around other dogs and people.
I recommend them to everyone!

we felt the same way - it was a lot of money when we used them too. But I have to say BEST MONEY WE EVER SPENT. The training will work and it will change your life. My dog had aggression issues, its something we need to work on everyday but they helped us so much. I love going to the group classes - and those are lifetime so you can go as often as you like for a s long as you want.
eta - if you were just trying to train basic obedience, then i would say its not worth it. Most people, if commited enough , can learn to do that on your own. But dealing with aggression and other hard to deal with issues - that is what i think they are great for. Well worth the money.

i agree with denisemarie 100%. my dog is sooo well haved now we bring him everywhere. everyone gives us compliments. before BFDT he almot went back to the breeder cause he was attacking me and dh. Te training is also lifetime. For example I've been with them for 3 years and I go to group classes on and off. I just had a baby and they offered to come to the house and help my dog to walk better next to the stroller.
Definitely worth it. you and your sogs will have a stronger bond.

i have a pit mix and she's a very special case. She gets crazy when she sees people, HATES kids with a passion (except for mine) and is all in all, a stubborn b!tch. I spent thousands of dollars on training for her before I found BFDT and nothing worked. When we had her trained by BFDT, she was a different dog!! She still is extremely stubborn but we're working on her. If it wasn't for this training company, we would have had to given her back to the pound and for sure, she would've been another number of the strays that are put down. I owe these guys my life!
call them up, get a free eval. there's no harm in it!! they don't pressure you either to train.
