Anyone use Dr. Angulo - Geneticist in Mineola?
Our orthopedist recommend that DD#1 see a geneticist to rule out bone cancer and other bone related diseases. We have an appt with Dr. Angulo next month, I was just wondering what to expect.

First off, sending you  &  I will pray DD is ok!!
I don't have experience with that exact diagnosis or the procedure for it, but maybe some of what I dealt with there will help you.
He was nice. I think sometimes hard to understand because of his accent if I remember correctly (it's been a while). We used him back when DS was born (over 4 years ago) and they suspected a genetic mutation. It took 12 weeks to get the results back. Once they had the exact mutation and where it was, I went to their office and his assistant (Monica(?)) took my blood to test for the same (to see if I was a carrier). They (both Dr Angulo & Monica) were really great speaking with us about everything and answered all our questions. I think one of the tests took longer than they said to get back to me, so i had to call about it, but other than that they were really good. Monica was the one to call if we had any issues or problems. I'm not sure if it works the same now.

I am not familiar with Dr Angulo but we met with Dr Fox at Cohen's/LIJ for our dd. They found a small genetic mutation with dd's blood work but turns out dh has the same exact mutation which negates that the mutation is in any way responsible for any of dd's issues...

I have known Dr Angulo for years...although I havent seen him in quite awhile.
He's a wonderful doctor and has wonderful bedside manner...
You'll be very happy with him....
Geneticists tend to have horrible bedside manner and the personalities of puddles. He's definitely the exception.
ETA: His accent can get in the way a bit. (He's from El Salvador) But his English is excellent.
