anyone use shooting stars portrait studio in BBB? UPDATED: I went today
how was your experience?
update:
so i went today to get DS's christmas pictures done. here are the plusses:
*they are patient
*there was no wait and hardly anyone there (i had an appt)
*the photos they took were beautiful
*the final product (christmas card) was beatiful
and the minuses:
*the woman i had didn't know what she was doing. she missed tons of shots because she was too slow and the camera kept "jamming". another man had to come and help
*major pressure to buy "the packages"
*if i heard "oh his photos came out so nicely....he took such nice photos...etc" one more time i was going to scream. it was put on WAY too thick
*they are $$$$. don't know how it compares to BRU, but i was surprised.
and the big negative:
*there are very few premade "merry christmas" cards. they had to do mine from scratch because i wanted "merry christmas" instead of "happy holidays". that bothered me for MANY reasons. one being that it's the holiday season and there should be MANY premade christmas and hanukah cards. also it took so freaking long because they had to find fonts and colors that matched the background.
so it was a mixed experience. would i do it again? i don't know. but i hate BRU with a passion and therefore don't want to patronize kiddie kandids

Ii really like them...I went for their Halloween shots (see my avatar) and I'm actually going today for holiday pics...
I didn't feel rushed for the photo session, then I didn't feel rushed choosing the photos. They took about 15 pics and I could choose any of them.

They used to have free 8x10 or 10x13 coupons...I have another from the last photo session...not sure if they have them anymore, although they should. They were on the wall next to the pamphlets with the a la carte photo menu on them...

I would love to see your holiday photos b.c I'm thinking of them - but haven't decided. Do they have a way to view your photos online since you don't get them for about 2 weeks?

If they do, they didn't tell me....I waited the two weeks for the Halloween ones.
I think they can print certain ones right there, but I'm not sure, I will find out today.
Did you see my Halloween ones when I posted them a while back?
If I get any today I will post them for you...

When I went in mid Oct. it wasn't. There was a family right before me, I waited 10 min. (I had an appt.), then they took me. There was a family waiting right after.
I'll let you know about today...probably busier because of the holidays. Oct. was an off season time...

So sorry to hear you didn't like them...
it's not that i didn't like them. i was thrown off a bit by the hard sell...but i think that woman was new because she had NO idea what she was doing.
i was very happy with the way the pictures came out...but the push to buy packages bothered me.
i will probably try them again, but i don't plan on doing a lot of prof pics.
oh and i don't have any pics to share because it takes 2 weeks to get them
