Anyone use TFCU recently for their mortgage?
Looking for some feedback. Wondering how your experience was.
TIA

Re: Anyone use TFCU recently for their mortgage?
My friend has been suffering with them for the past FOUR months... they have been horrible. Still no end in sight.
I will never do business with them, for anything.
I'd stay away if I were you.

We used them for our refi. They dragged their feet the whole time and our application almost expired. We finally closed at the last possible minute and haven't had any issues since.

We used them for our mortgage a year ago. They had the best rate, but the process was slow (about 4-5 months). Luckily we were happy to have that time since we bought before we sold, but if we hadn't, I would have been pizzed. No problems since.

We used them for 2 mortgages. Both were very fast, with no issues at all. Very nice and easy to work with. I have absolutely no complaints at all (other than the fact that I have to pay it back.... ). We went to the HQ office both times. Not sure if that made any difference.

Re: Anyone use TFCU recently for their mortgage?
TFCU wasted my time and money with a refinance attempt. Even though I submitted all documentation when asked, they weren’t able to put a deal together before my application expired. They did offer to start the entire process all over again if I paid for another application fee and another appraisal, when the original appraisal was only five weeks old, and refused to release the appraisal, which I paid for, to another lender.
My impression with the entire process was that they never intended to approve the loan from the start, but had me jump through hoops anyway.
By the way, I have excellent credit, no other debts, a history of extra mortgage payments on my existing mortgage, a history of increasing business income documented with three years of personal and business tax returns, and a loan request of less than 50% of my home’s appraised value.
Just wish I had larger deposits to pull out of this institution.
They do advertise good rates though!
Good Luck!
